Hopefully, you're not too "over" Valentine's Day yet! Though I finished this card in time to give to my husband yesterday - I didn't have time to post it. It's been designed and nearly finished for over a week - but I never found the time to put it together and photograph it... I am definitely one of those people who work better with a deadline!
So, Sharon Johnson posted a velvet heart card awhile back, which reminded me that I have always wanted to try stamping on velvet. Then the very next day, she posted such a card (here). Her instructions kept me from having to hunt down the card I had seen in a magazine one day. Anyway, I had such great fun stamping MANY of my heart and other images on velvet. Then, life happened and I ended up only making one card with it. However, I really liked this one and wanted to share it even though it is a day late... :)
Following Sharon's notes, I stamped Damask Heart (Impression Obsession) on red velvet. Since it was a little flimsy after I cut it out, I decided to adhere it to cardstock. In using velvet again, I would want to find an adhesive that I can use to keep from smashing the velvet a bit. If you happen to know of something, please leave me a note as to your secret!
I used these Photo Carousel Transparencies: Photo Edges (7 Gypsies) in one of my Christmas gifts this year - and loved how it looked over this 7 Gypsies Classic Paperie 6x6 paper. This card is 5 x 6 in order to use most of the transparency overlay. If memory serves me right, the keyhole is also a 7 Gypsies embie that I've had for a VERY long time. The ribbon came off of something I bought over Christmas.
Even though there was no text on the front of the card, the message was clear to my husband. I wrote that he held the key to my heart on the inside of the card. Thanks for looking!
